Individual Therapy is private one-on-one counseling sessions. Our therapists can assist with the following:

  • Life Transitions (new school, new job, moving, launching children, etc)

  • Relational Challenges (dating, communication, conflict, blending families, parenting, divorce/breakups, connection, betrayal, trust, etc)

  • Anxiety

  • Depression

  • PTSD

  • Trauma

  • Grief

  • Emotion Regulation

  • Stress Management

  • Self-Identity/Self-Esteem

  • Self-Harm

Listed are some of the approaches that are used in therapy with individuals. This is not all inclusive and our therapists integrate several approaches to create a customize experience for you.

Internal Family Systems (IFS)

Have you ever found yourself saying “a part of me ‘this’, but a part of me ‘that'”? IFS addresses internal conflicts that hinder our external experiences. IFS believes that we all have a Self that, at its core, can heal and guide. In addition to the Self, we also have parts that are in protective roles that take more extreme measures when distressed. This approach integrates well with others. Internal exploration can be done through guided meditation, talk therapy, play therapy and more.

Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT)

CBT is an approach that believes that how a person reacts to a situation is strongly influenced by their thoughts and perspectives. Individuals are prone to have distorted thoughts when under stress that impact their emotions, behaviors, and psychological responses. Through CBT, individuals become more aware of their distorted thinking patterns. They then learn to evaluate their thinking to create more realistic thinking patterns ultimately changing their reactions.

3

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)

EMDR is all about reprocessing events and beliefs through bilateral stimulation allowing your brain to do all the work. Reprocessing the events and beliefs allow you to release the negative outlook on your experience which decreases the disturbance and distress it has in your life. This is a great approach for those that do not wish to talk about their stresses in detail. However, for those who do like to talk things out more, this integrates well with other approaches.

4

Solution Focused Brief Therapy

As the name states, SFBT focuses on the solution. Rather than focusing on the problem the client is guided to accessing the strengths and resources they already have. As a client gains access to their strengths and resources they naturally move toward their goals for change.
